If you're interested in joining the fight against cancer, there are many ways to make a difference. Below, we've listed a few opportunities (even if you're not majoring in the suggested area, you are still able to participate however you wish).
Your staff partner will be able to provide detailed information on any of these opportunities.
Volunteer to host a "Relay Recess" at a local elementary school. Your American Cancer Society staff representative can help you get started.
Volunteer to be the Chairperson of a Bark For Life event on your campus or in your community.
Advocate for healthy food options in your cafeteria and/or food court...and for a smoke-free campus.
Assist your local American Cancer Society office with media exposure in your campus newspaper, website and tv/radio stations.
Volunteer to cook dinner for the residents at a Hope Lodge in your community. No Hope Lodge? Get with your Relay For Life Survivorship/Caregiver Chair and plan a special dinner for the survivors/caregivers on your campus.
These are just a few ideas. Every campus is different. To find out which volunteer opportunities exist on your campus, email us at email@example.com.
